EU, Iran statement expected around 1700 GMT: US sources

The European Union and Iran were expected to give a joint statement today amid marathon talks aimed at scaling back Tehran's nuclear ambitions, US sources said.

EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini was set to give a statement in English at around 1700 GMT (2230 IST), followed by an identical statement in Farsi by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
