Ex-armyman accidentally shoots himself dead in UP

A 62-year-old ex-armyman was killed after he accidentally shot himself in Bisva area of the district, police said today.

Susheel Awasthi received bullet injuries in his waist last night after he tripped on the floor, causing the revolver kept in his holster to fire, Biswan SHO KK Mishra said.

Awasthi was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries. The body has been sent for postmortem and investigation is underway, Mishra said.
