Ex-armyman shot dead in UP

An ex-serviceman was shot dead allegedly by four persons over an old rivalry in Rajpura area, police said here today.

55-year-old Mahavir was shot dead while he was going to a dairy in Tanda village last night, incharge of Rajpura police station Yogendra Krishna Yadav said.

He said that a case had been lodged against Veer, Pappu, Mukesh and an unidentified person in this connetion.

In 1998, one Ram Khiladi was killed and his family members suspected Mahavir's involvement, he said, adding that two of the accused in this case are Khiladi's sons.
