Ex-KPCC leader remanded to judicial custody in murder case

A court here today remanded to judicial custody a former general secretary of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) in connection with the murder of a 28-year-old man ealier this month.
First Class Judicial Magistrate here remanded M R Ramdas to judicial custody for 14 days.
Ramdas was arrested last night in connection with the murder of Ratheesh alias Mani, hailing from Shornur, at a flat in the city on March 3.

According to police, Rasheed, another Congress leader, his aide Krishnaprasad and Saswathi, a native of Guruvayur, beat Satheesh to death following a dispute at the flat.
Ramdas had allegedly assisted in their escape.
Krishnaprasad and Saswathi were arrested earlier and Rasheed, who was absconding, surrendered before a court in Palakkad.
A case had been registered against Ramdas under various sections of IPC, police added.
