The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today conducted raid at the residence of a former sub-registrar here and found assets "disproportionate" to his known sources of income, officials said.
S Rama Krishna Das, the former sub-registrar posted at Akkayyapalem Registrar Office here, was arrested after the raid, ACB said in its release.
"Das, who had been suspended from services as Sub-Registrar of Akkayapalem Registrar Office in March this year due to corruption charges, has amassed wealth to the tune of over Rs 1.5 crore," it added.

During the raid, the ACB officials recovered a cash of Rs 15 lakh from a bank locker and documents relating to properties worth over Rs 70 lakh.
"His bank balance was recorded at Rs 11 lakh, gold ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh, insurance document of Rs 7 lakh, fixed deposits worth Rs 3 lakh, mortgage documents of Rs 4 lakh and promissory notes of Rs 2 lakh," the ACB release added.
Talking about the properties, the sub-registrar owns lands at Yetikoppaka, Darlapudi of Bhimavaram, houses in Yetikoppaka and Ravindra Nagar area of the city, agricultural lands at Yelamanchali, the officials said.
The ACB sleuths also raided the residences of his relatives in many parts of the district.
Further investigation into the case is underway, they said.
