Explosion in shop, one detained

A mysterious object exploded at a shop located near the Meenakshi Amman temple here today following which a person was detained for questioning, police said.

The minor explosion occurred after the man Thajudeen, running a gas stove sales and service and old goods business shop, was removing garbage and cleaning his shop, police said.

No one was injured, police added.
