Explosives seized in Maoist-affected dist

A large quantity of explosives were seized by Jharkhand police near Kobad in Maoist-affected Giridih district today and a man was arrested in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted a MUV and seized 4000 pieces of gelatin and 2800 pieces of detonators, Superintendent of Police Akhilesh B Beriar said, adding the vehicle was confiscated.

The explosives were being transported to Baliapur, Dhanbad from Domchanch of Koderma, he said, adding the accused is being interrogated.
