Fake currencies found from atm

face value of over Rs one lakh, were found from two ATMs of a state-run bank in Englishbazar town of Malda district in the past two days.

Police said the authorities of Central Bank of India local branch lodged formal complaint with the police after seven-eight customers complained having encashed counterfeit notes from the two automated teller machines at Rathbari area since yesterday.

While two customers complained having got fake notes with the face value of Rs 13,500 yesterday, five-six others approached the bank today alleging they were given fake currencies with the apparent worth of Rs 90,000 from the same two machines.

 

The bank authorities found all the currencies were fake after examination and then formally registered a complaint with the police.
