Fake currency racket busted, woman held

Police here today claimed to have busted a fake currency racket with the arrest of a woman in Kamalpur area of Kamrup (rural) district.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team headed by Rangiya sub-divisional police officer raided a local eatery and seized fake notes with a face value of Rs 25,000 from the woman.

The woman was arrested while other members of the gang managed to escape, the police said.

A vehicle has also been seized.
