Fake medical equipment manufacturing factory busted, 1 held

Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a fake medical equipment manufacturing factory in Nazafgarh area of South-West Delhi with the arrest of a person in this connection.

Duplicate medical equipments worth Rs 30 lakh were seized from the premises of the factory during the raid, police said.

According to police, they got the tip-off about the factory from Gulshan Kumar (33), who was arrested on Thursday last for running a similar unit at Madipur Village near Punjabi Bagh area.

"On the basis of information given by Gulshan during interrogation, we arrested Chandan alias Rahul and seized 540 duplicate dialysis guide wires, various machines, large quantity of semi-finished dialysis guide wires, femoral catheters and angiography guide wires. Raw material and packing materials including printed labels, wrappers etc," Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.
 

According to police, Chandan used to sell these products under the name of renowned national and international brands. He had also created his own firm, Dr Surgical and Asian Medical Devices, which was a cover-up for his illegal activities.
