Fake voter ID card racket busted, two held

Police today claimed to have busted a fake voter identity card racket with the arrest of two persons in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

Zahoor Ahmad Wani of Malpora-Wanpoh and Mohammad Umer Teli of Kamed-Teelipora were arrested and 32 fake voter identity cards were seized from them in Bijbeahra area, 45 kms from here, a police spokesman said.

He said the duo were dealing in providing fake voter identity cards to the people and their arrest led to the busting of the racket.

Wani was the first to be arrested by the police party and his questioning led to the arrest of his accomplice Teli, the spokesman said, adding investigation is going on and more arrests are expected.
