Farmer dies of bee attack

A 54-year-old farmer has died after

being stung by bees at a village in the district, police said.

The incident occurred at Seelampatti when a farm worker accidentally disturbed a bee hive yesterday in the farm land taken on lease by the victim, Kuppusamy, police said.

The worker raised an alarm as thousands of bees started attacking him. Kuppusamy rushed to his rescue and the worker managed to flee the spot.

But the bees started attacking Kuppusamy who sustained serious sting injuries and was admitted to a hospital where he died last evening.
