Farmer dies of monkey fever

A 56-year-old farmer died of Kyasanur Forest Disease or monkey fever today at a private medical college hospital in Sultan Bathery in neighbouring Wayanad district.

The deceased was identified as Vijayan of Unnukallingal. Initially, he was admitted to the taluk hospital on April 18 and shifted to the private hospital next day, District Medical Officer In-charge T V Sashidharan said.
