Farmer hit by lightning in UP, dies

A farmer today died on the spot after he was struck by lightning in Tehra village in Sahasvaan area here, police said.

The incident took place this morning when Prempal Singh (42) was working in his field and lightning struck him, they said.

The district administration said due compensation would be given to family members of the victim.
