Farmer's 3 children charred to death as fire engulfs his hut

A farmer's three children were charred to death after a fire broke out in their hut in Sunderpur village here, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday. Manphul was working in his field when the blaze erupted. His sons -- Dharmendra (7) and Alok (5) -- and daugther Divya (9), got trapped in the fire, police said.

The fire also destroyed the farmer's wheat crop.

District Magistrate Prakash Bindu visited the spot and promised him financial assistance.

The cause of fire is not known yet.
