Farmer's wife receives compensation from govt

Wife of the debt-ridden farmer, who had commited suicide by jumping from a mobile tower here, was given a compensation of Rs 2 lakh today.

The amount paid in cheque from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, was handed over by Meerut Tehsildar Ramesh Chand Yadav to Krishna, wife of the deceased farmer Yogendra Kumar, at her home.

Yogendra, a resident of Rasulpur Danthala village of Kharkhauda, was in debt as he had taken money from private lenders, and committed suicide by jumping from the mobile tower belonging to a private company on Saturday.
