Five persons were seriously injured in a firing between farmers over the issue of common passage in their fields at village Jalle Wala here, police said today.
The firing took place late last night over the issue of common passage in the fields of Balwinder Singh and Sucha Singh Nambardar, both residents of village Jalle Wala, they said.
Sucha alleged that Balwinder along with several armed persons barged into his residence and opened fire following which five persons, including himself and Jand Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Gurbhej Singh and Kuldeep Singh got injured.

All the injured have been admitted to a civil hospital, police said.
Bhupinder Kaur, in-charge, Mallanwala police station said, "No arrest has been made till now but the investigation is on.
