Union minister and Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia today alleged that farmers had been "suffering" in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh.

"BJP had promised that after coming to power it will waive off farmers' loan, but it has not waived off the loan of even a single farmer," Scindia said addressing an election rally at Depalpur in Indore district, ahead of the November 25 Assembly elections.

"The BJP's lotus has blossomed but farmers' faces remained dull," said Scindia, also the chairman of state Congress' election campaign committee.

The Guna MP said Congress will not only waive-off the farmers' loans up to Rs 51,000 but also their power bills which they were "forced" to pay under the BJP rule, if voted to power.

He also criticised the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government for "pathetic" condition of schools and hospitals in the state.
