Father arrested for filicide

A 40-year-mand was arrested on charges of filicide, police said today.

Karuppusamy's nine-year-old daughter Kavya was living with him after he discarded his wife, while his three year-old son Kannan was with the wife in Coimbatore.

He took his daughter to an isolated place last night and strangulated her to death, police said, adding, it was due to poverty, he killed the child.
