The family of an aide of controversial godman Asaram Bapu has approached the police saying that the youth was missing since yesterday.

Lukcy Chourasia (26), who lived at Asaram's Ashram in Ahmedabad until recently, was receiving phone calls from the Ashram asking him to return, according to the complaint filed by his father Ramsevak Chourasia here.

However, soon after the missing complaint was lodged, Lucky rang up his mother and told her that he had left the house on his own but did not reveal his whereabouts, police said.

According to Ramsevak Chouhan, he sent Lucky to Kota in Rajasthan for preparation of IIT entrance exam around seven years ago, but the latter went to Asaram's Ashram in Ahmedabad and settled down there as the godman's aide.

After Asaram's arrest in sexual assault case in Jodhpur, the family got worried and brought Lucky back three weeks ago, police said.
