State-run Food Corporation of India (FCI) has floated a tender to appoint a recruitment agency to fill up vacant posts, Parliament was informed today.
In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Food C R Chaudhary said there were 19,610 posts vacant at FCI as on June 30 this year.
"A tender has already been floated for appointment of a recruitment agency," he said.
FCI conducts recruitment for category I, II and III officers through an agency via an open tender enquiry, he said.
Around 5,648 candidates have joined in FCI under direct recruitment during last three years.
Against the sanction of 42,038 personnel, 22,428 are in position at FCI, which is the nodal government agency for procuring foodgrains in the country.
