Female elephant found dead

A female elephant was found dead in Kolhuchaud forests of Lansdowne forest division of Pauri district, official sources said here today.

Forest guards recovered the carcass of the female elephant during a routine patrol on Monday evening, they said.

Prima facie, the elephant seemed to have died of some illness but the exact cause of its death will be known only after the postmortem report, which is still awaited, they said.
