An officer of a Delhi-based company was allegedly shot dead by unidentified men in the district when he resisted their loot attempt, police said today.

According to police, the incident took place yesterday near Satheri village when 35-year-old Yogesh Kumar, field officer in a Delhi company, was returning on a motorbike from Meerut to his village Satheri.

Some men stopped him and tried to loot Kumar, who resisted their attempt. The armed men then shot him dead, police said.

The body has been sent for postmortem and no arrest has been made so far.
