A fire broke out at the Puducherry facility of pharmaceuticals major Shasun in wee hours yesterday, however, there was no casualties or injuries to anyone, the company said today.
"...A fire accident at Ibuprofen IP grade packing section in the active pharmaceuticals ingredient (API) facility at Puducherry occured around 2.30am on April 27.", the Chennai-based company said in a BSE filing.
Since the facility is in an isolated packing section from the main production block "there was no impact to the other manufacturing operations, product supplies and no major damage to the facility", Shasun Pharmaceuticals said.

"There has not been human casualty or injuries. The facility is fully covered with insurance", it said.
The facility in Puducherry was established in 1986 and was in to manufacturing of the drug Ibuprofen for supply to overseas markets including Europe, North America.
