The forest fire at Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, which started two days back, is still to be put out completely.
The fire started on Monday and over 250 persons have been deployed by the forest department to douse it.
A team of officials has reached the spot and is investigating the cause of the fire, Assistant Conservator of Forest, Pandharkawda, G Guruprasad said, adding it could not be ascertained at the moment if any animal has died.

He however confirmed that a large portion of the forest was gutted and trees were still smoldering.
Tipeshwar sanctuary, situated on Maharashtra-Telangana border, is spread over 114 square km. There are at least 14 tigers in the area.
