A fire broke out today in a sewer in east Delhi's Mayur Vihar area.
A call was received at about 4 PM about flames erupting from a 'nallah' in Acharya Niketan in Mayur Vihar, said an official from Delhi Fire Services.
Five firetenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused by 7 PM, he said.

It is suspected that the fire broke out due to chemical reaction between the containers of paint that had been thrown in the nallah, he added.
Since it was a closed sewer, the fire was contained and there were no casualties or injuries.
