About 40 computers, UPS, CPU and other equipment were destroyed in a fire in District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) building here in the early hours today.
Deputy Development Commissioner(DDC) Chandrashekhar Singh said the first floor of the building was badly damaged in the fire and some valuable documents and papers were reduced to ashes.
Short circuit is suspected to be the reason behind the fire.

He said five fire engines were been pressed into service to douse the fire, which did not damage the other floors.
The fire had affected the census work as its office was located on first floor, Singh said.
