Five arrested for gambling

Five people were arrested last night for their alleged involvement in gambling, police said today.

They were nabbed from Kalkaji area after a tip-off.

The arrested have been identified as Suraj Gupta (42), Laxman Mehra (37), Anil Kumar Gupta (38), Shanti Lal (52) Vishnu Gupta (41) all residents of Govind Puri. The police also recovered Rs 53,000 and playing cards from the accused.

The accused have been arrested under relevant sections of Gambling Act, said a senior police official.
