Five fake 'CID officers' arrested in Barasat

Five persons were arrested today from Barasat's Beliaghata market for faking as CID officers and extorting money from local traders, police said.

A Tata Sumo, one firearm and few fake papers were also seized from the five persons, Additional SP Bhaskar Mukherjee said.

It was a gang of eight persons and we have managed arresting five while other three has escaped, Mukherjee said, adding, that the gang was involved in a couple of extortion cases also.
