Five get life term for murder, one acquitted

A court here today sentenced five accused to life imprisonment in connection with the murder of a 24-year old man in 2010 in a case of mistaken identity.

Salem Additional District Judge S Rajasekaran, while convicting the accused, aged between 21 and 32, acquitted one person.

According to prosecution, the accused murdered Elangovan mistaking him for Viswanathan, who had an illicit relationship with the wife of Murugan, one of the accused, on December 5, 2010 at Chinnakollapatty here.
