Five students were injured, when the activists of Student Federation of India (SFI) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad clashed at Dharmanagar, the district headquarters of North Tripura district, today.
"Five persons were injured in a clash between the activists of SFI and ABVP AT Dharmanagar. One of them was shifted to Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) for better treatment," North District SP Abhijit Saptarshi told PTI.
President of Tripura unit of BJP, Sudhindra Dasgupta, alleged an ABVP activist was assaulted by SFI workers inside a room Dharmanagar college when he refused to be a member of SFI. They then beat up other ABVP members injuring five, he said.
SFI Tripura Secretary Nabarun Deb claimed three SFI activists were injured when the BJP and ABVP workers attacked their procession, which they took out in protest against alleged corruption of BJP ministers at the Centre.
