Five inmates booked for using cell phones in UP jail

A case has been registered against five inmates for uploading a selfie taken by a mobile phone in district jail here, police said.

An FIR was lodged with the police by Jailor Satish Tripathi after an inquiry probing the incident found the inmates violating the rules, Jail Superintendent Rakesh Singh said.

The incident came to light after the selfie of five inmates went viral on social media.
