Five persons including two women and a child were killed while four others sustained serious injuries when the vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a truck at Samrala-Khanna road, 50 km from here today, police said.
The occupants of the SUV were on their way to Nawanshahr from Karnal (Haryana) to attend a family function, when it collided head-on with the truck, the police said.
The injured who were stated to be in critical condition, were rushed to PGIMER in Chandigarh, the police added.
