Five persons were killed and three others injured in a collision between two vehicles in Kaushambi district today, police said.
A Bolero and tempo collided near Mehgava village under Puramufti police station area. Five persons - Nandlal Prajapati (55), Indrawati (50), Avadh Narain Gautam (55), Roshanlal Prajapati (18) and Vasundhara (38) died on the spot, police reports here said.
The drivers of both the vehicles fled the scene after the accident, police said adding that the vehicles have been seized.
The victims were on their way to have darshans at Kadadham Sheetla temple, they said adding that the injured have been admitted to hospital.
