Five labourers die due to lightning

At least five labourers were killed and two seriously injured after they were struck by lightning in Mayurbhanj district today.

The victims were working in farm lands near Khunta canal chhak around noon when lightning accompanied by heavy rains struck the area killing five persons including four women on the spot, a police official said.

The injured were admitted to the district headquarter hospital.
