Five women killed in lightning

Five women were killed due to lightning in separate incidents in the city, police said here today.

Jagia (40) and Beladevi (50) were killed in lightning yesterday in Jafarpur Mahava and Chak Guraini villages respectively in Manjhanpur area here, while Satrupa (35) and Fuladevi (50) were killed at Lohkatia and Saidpur Ali villages respectively after being hit by lightning last evening, they said.

In other incident Neha (12) was stuck by lightning in Lodhaur village, they added.

District Magistrate Satyendra Singh has said that family of the victims would be given adequate compensation.
