The Shimla Police today busted a flesh trade racket by arresting three people, including the owner of a hotel, where it was allegedly running.

The police also claimed to have detained seven women, four from Punjab and three from Himachal, during a raid in the hotel at Janedghat on Kufri-Chail road, about 40-km from here late last night.

A call was received at the Dhalli police station that loud music was being played in the hotel, following which the police conducted raids past mid-night and arrested three persons under sections of Immoral Traffic Prevention Act 1956, the police said.

During the raid, several people were found in the hotel who were under the influence of alcohol while some women were found hiding in tents constructed for the party of a multi- national company, they said.

"Preliminary investigations revealed thatall the women in the age group of 25-30 years were married," the police sources said.

An investigation is underway, the police said, adding they were trying to reach the kingpin of the racket.

The police said that the arrested persons would be produced in the court.
