Flesh trade racketeer held

Police today arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly operating a prostitution racket in the coastal belt of Calangute and rescued three girls.

The girls, hailing from Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi, were rescued after the Calangute Police raided a guest house with the help of an NGO.

"A decoy customer was sent to the rooms of the pimp. On confirmation od his identity, the police detained him," a police official said.

The accused, who hails from Mumbai, has been identified as Sayed Tanzil.

The rescued girls were sent to a state-run protective home.

The guest house has been sealed.
