Floral tributes at War Memorial for Navy Day

Senior officials of the armed forces today paid tributes to the martyrs at the War Memorial here to mark the 'Navy Day'.

Floral tributes were paid at the War Memorial near the Chennai Port Trust by Commodore Amar K Mahadevan, Naval Officer In-charge (Tamil Nadu and Puducherry), Brigadier Kulpreet Singh, Station Commander, ATNK&K Area, Air Commodore Rippon Gupta, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Tambaram and Inspector General SP Sharma, Commander Coast Guard Region (East), an official release said.

"The Indian Navy observes December 4 every year as Navy Day to commemorate the glorious victory of the Indian Navy in the Indo-Pak War of 1971 and to salute the valiant heroes who brought us this moment of pride," the release said.
