FM to inaugurate tax conference

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will inagurate the annual conference of Principal Chief Commissioners, Principal Director Generals, Chief Commissioners and Director Generals of Income Tax on Monday.

The major focus during the two day annual conference would be on the accountability of assessing officers, non-filers monitoring system, data warehousing, role of Directorate of I and CI in changing scenario, search, seizure and surveys - study of effectiveness among others, an official statement said.

One of the technical sessions will be addressed by Supreme Court of India's senior advocate Harish Salve, it added.

The valedictory address on July 22, 2014 will be made by Minister of State for Finance Nirmala Sitharaman.
