Former Supreme Court Judge, V R Krishna Iyer, has appreciated the concern show by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for seven life convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi Assasination case.
In a letter to Jayalalithaa, he said he had taken the consistent view against death sentence and appreciated her concern and compassion for the convicts.
The state government recently decided to release the convicts, but the apex court stayed it on a petition moved by the Centre challenging the state's decision.
