A major forest fire today erupted in southwest China's Yunnan Province, prompting authorities to send about 300 firefighters to put out the blaze.
The firefighters were struggling to put out the blaze near the scenic city of Dali, local authorities said.
Seven fire engines have been dispatched to the mountain forest, said the firefighters, who received the report of the blaze at about 8:25 pm, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
