Forest staff deployed to look after two orphaned lion cubs

The Gujarat forest department has deployed staff to look after two orphaned lion cubs found roaming in Nevasa area of Amreli district.

The personnel were deployed four days ago to take care of the two orphaned cubs, Rambhai Mor, Range Forest Officer (RFO) of Amreli, told PTI today.

Their mother was found dead in Nevasa forest area on April 18.

The department staff is looking after the food and water requirements of the cubs, he said.

"We will continue to look after them till the higher authorities decide on where to shift them for their further care," the officer said.
 

Meanwhile, Mor said a lion cub was killed after being hit by a speeding vehicle on the Dhari-Jasadhar Road yesterday.
