Former Congress MP N Dennis is no more

Veteran Congress leader and six-time MP N Dennis died here today after a brief illness.

Dennis, 85, who was suffering from old-age related ailments died at a private hospital this afternoon, his family members said.

He was elected six times to the Lok Sabha from Nagercoil Constituency as a Congress candidate in 1980, 1984, 1989 and 1991 and on the now defunct Tamil Maanila Congress ticket in 1996 and 1998 elections. He was also an MLA from 1971-76.

Denis is survived by wife, one son and two daughters.
