Former Director of Department of Personnel and Training Manjula Gupta passed away at a city hospital after prolonged illness, family sources said today.
She was 72.
Gupta, wife of former West Bengal Chief Secretary Asok Gupta (both of 1967 IAS batch) passed away last night, they said.
Gupta served as Director in DoPT, Divisional Commissioner Jalpaiguri, Principal Secretary Personnel and Administrative Department, Govt of West Bengal, and as the Commissioner General Land and Land reforms of the state among many other posts where she excelled.
State Chief Secretary Basudeb Banerjee expressed grief over Gupta's demise and a delegation of officers from the IAS Association West Bengal met Asok Gupta today.
