Pradesh Mian Kuldeep Singh died after prolonged illness in Chandigarh.

He was 91 and is survived two sons and a daughter.

Singh died yesterday.

Singh, an MLA from Kot-Kehloor in Bilaspur district, was elected to the state assembly in 1972 and was a prominent leader of cooperative movement in the state.

Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Dev Vrat and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh mourned the death of veteran leader and prayed for peace of the departed soul.

In his message, the Chief Minister said that the services rendered by Kuldeep Singh for the development of Bilaspur district particularly for Kot-Kehloor area would always be remembered by the people.
 

He said that Singh had also participated in freedom struggle and was the "father of cooperative movement" in Bilaspur district.

State Assembly speaker B B L Butail and BJP MP Anurag Thakur have also condoled the death of Singh.
