Former IAS officer joins Congress

Former bureaucrat H M Shangpliang today joined the Congress.

Shangpliang, an IAS officer took voluntary from service last month to contest from Mawsynram constituency on a Congress ticket.

Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee working president James Lyngdoh welcomed him at the Congress bhavan.

Shangpliang said there is great scope to help and work for the people by joining the Congress party.

"I have no other agenda besides ensuring good road, good education and good health care system in the constituency (Mawsynram) currently whose member is suspended by the Congress)," he said.
