Former judges Bansi Lal Bhat, A I S Cheema new NCLAT members

Justices (retired) Bansi Lal Bhat and A I S Cheema were today appointed as members of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT).

Justice (retd.) Bhat is former judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. Justice (Retd.) Cheema is former judge of the Bombay High Court.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved their appointment as judicial members in the NCLAT for three years or till they attain the age of 67 years, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.

The NCLAT is the appellate tribunal for hearing appeals against the orders passed by NCLT(s) and by the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India.
 

It also hears appeals against any order passed by the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
