Goa government's sub-committee on Right to Information selected former Maharashtra additional chief secretary Leena Mehandale today as Goa's Chief Information Commissioner.
Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today announced her name for the post, along with two other state information commissioners.
Mehandale is a member of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and is a retired IAS officer.

The sub-committee comprising Deputy Chief Minister Francis D'Souza and Leader of Opposition Pratapsingh Rane, along with Parrikar as its chairman also announced the names of Stanley Coutinho and Sandesh Prabhudesai as state information commissioners.
Parrikar said that these appointments would be made after following procedures.
