Former City Corporation Mayor and two time MLA, Malaravan today announced his decision to quit AIADMK and said he would join the party to be formed by former chief minister Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa.
Malaravan said he was a loyal AIADMK worker since its formation by late M G Ramachandran, but now he has decided to quit the party.
He claimed that AIADMK general secretary, V K Sasikala and members of her family had no support among party cadre and the general public.
"I have decided to quit AIADMK and join the party to be formed by Deepa," Malaravan told reporters here.
